I am a board-certified medical illustrator based in Detroit. I focus on making resources for web and print media that are thoughtfully tailored to the intended audience, emphasize the beauty of the human body, and celebrate inclusivity and equality of care.
I have created illustrations and animations for medical journals, students at OUWB School of Medicine, surgeons-in-training at the Royal College of Surgeons of England, patient resources for NGMV Charity, 3D anatomical models for Ninewells Teaching Hospital, and science visuals for the Lloyd Library and Museum, the D'Arcy Thompson Zoological Museum, and the Centre for Human Anatomy and Identification.
I received a MSc in Medical Art with Distinction from the University of Dundee (2018), where I completed my thesis on complications with placental implantation, and a BA in Visual Art and Anthropology from Williams College (2010). My attention to detail, accuracy, and aesthetics has been honed through years of training and experience in craft and design, art conservation, and documentary film. I also have a foundation in human anatomy and physiology through studies at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill and the University of North Carolina at Asheville.
I am a professional member of the Association of Medical Illustrators and the Institute of Medical Illustrators. In 2018, I was honored with the Institute of Medical Illustrators Award (Gold). I have also been the recipient of many residencies and fellowships for my fine art.
I am proficient in Zbrush, Maya, and Adobe Creative Suite, as well as virtual and interactive platforms including Hololens.
